On Tuesday, 7 November 2023, four top companies and one newcomer were awarded prizes at the Dingolfing District Administration - including the erl group welding & cutting.
With the "TOP Company of Lower Bavaria" award, the Niederbayern-Forum e.V. association, together with the districts and independent towns, honours those companies that stand out due to their outstanding performance and special commitment.
Administrative Head of the District Werner Bumeder, who also hosted the event, honoured a total of five companies from a wide range of sectors on Tuesday evening - from a manufacturer of software products, to a building materials retailer and a butcher's shop, to a health centre and finally a company from the welding and cutting technology sector, erl group from Landau. The award winners, who also brought some of their staff with them, were welcomed in the main conference room of the District Administration. After a speech by Dr Olaf Heinrich, District President and Chairman of the Lower Bavaria Forum, as well as Rainer Haselbeck, Government President and second Chairman of the Lower Bavaria Forum, the top companies were introduced.
The laudatory speech for the erl group welding & cutting was given by the Mayor of Landau, Matthias Kohlmayer. In his speech, he was impressed by the entrepreneurial strength of the group of companies with an annual turnover of 23 million euros and investments totalling around seven million euros at the site. He also emphasised the wide range of services offered by the erl group, ranging from its own welding equipment, consulting and sales of welding technology to automated cutting systems and its own welding wire production.
Administrative Head of the District Bumeder then handed over the award to the Managing Directors Martin Erl, Martin Stefan Erl and Robert Lahnsteiner. During the Q&A session, Martin Erl thanked the company for being awarded as a top company. "We are very pleased and proud of this award." At the same time, he emphasised the role of the employees, without whom this achievement would not be possible. When asked about the company's own aluminium wire drawing plant at the location in Landau, Robert Lahnsteiner explained that it is one of only two companies in Germany that manufactures in this way and, thanks to continuous further development, is able to provide the quality and quantity that ensures worldwide customers. Finally, Martin Stefan Erl gave an insight into the future plans of the erl group. The intention is to merge all three sectors of the erl group in Landau in order to utilise synergy effects and continue to grow, and discussions are already underway to find a suitable plot of land.
