The group of companies consisting of ERL GmbH Schweissen + Schneiden, ERL Automation GmbH and MIGAL.CO GmbH welcomed representatives of the Croatian Welding Association and the University of Zagreb with around 40 prospective welding engineers and presented the group as well as its products and services.
The "Schweißtechnische Versuchs- und Lehranstalt" (SLV) Munich has maintained a successful partnership with the Croatian Welding Association and the University of Zagreb for many years and in this context regularly organizes excursions to inform the trainees about news in the field of welding and cutting technology and to provide them with insights into practice.
This year, ERL GmbH Scheißen + Schneiden, system trader for welding technology, filler materials, industrial safety and equipment, gave the prospective welding engineers from Croatia a look behind the scenes. Together with ERL Automation GmbH, manufacturer of portal and robot cutting systems, and MIGAL.CO GmbH, manufacturer of welding wire, a varied programme was put together. More than 40 welding engineers in training came to Landau a. d. Isar together with their professor Zoran Kozuh, Jadranka Erzisnik from the Croatian Welding Association and the organizer of the excursion, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Heidi Cramer from the "Gesellschaft für Schweißtechnik International".
After welcoming the visitors, company founder and CEO Martin Erl introduced the individual companies of the erl group to the prospective welding engineers before various lectures followed. First, Martin Stefan Erl, Managing Director of ERL GmbH Schweissen + Schneiden, spoke on the topic of "Arc welding with robots". Afterwards, Martin Erl provided information on "Thermal cutting with oxy-fuel and plasma torches" and "Weld seam preparation with the BIBER robot". A lecture on "Gas-shielded welding of aluminium" by Robert Lahnsteiner, managing director of MIGAL.CO GmbH, rounded off the series of lectures.
After the lunch break, the practical part of the event started. Divided into several small groups, the prospective welding engineers got to know the products of the erl group in detail. In the company's own technology centre, a welding robot system was waiting, on which Martin Stefan Erl demonstrated teaching, external programming and welding of components. In the ERL Automation GmbH factory, Martin Erl presented the BIBER robot cutting system and the erlcut gantry cutting system he developed himself. The guests were able to admire this during live cutting and then examine the cutting results. At MIGAL.CO GmbH, Robert Lahnsteiner gave a guided tour of the production and presented the stages of aluminium welding wire production - from the starting material to the packaging.
