The 27th International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition, EuroBLECH 2024, has come to an end after four very successful days. A total of just over 39,000 trade visitors from all over the world traveled to Hanover to define the future of sheet metal working and defy the current challenges. This year's trade fair featured over 1,300 exhibitors - ERL Automation GmbH also presented its innovative solutions for automated welding and cutting together with ERL GmbH. The new products from ERL met with great interest from the trade visitors and attracted numerous visitors to the stand.

ERL Automation presented the unique BIBER robot cutting system for chamfering complex components with the KUKA IONTEC robot mechanics at the trade fair stand. Thanks to the slim and dynamic robot, the user benefits from even more application options - even system concepts with up to 3,500 mm are possible. With the BIBER, companies can now realize chamfers or separating cuts on flat material as well as three-dimensional workpieces (e.g. container bottoms, edge parts or rolled parts) more economically. Thanks to the 3D .step import, this is all done without time-consuming teaching. The BIBER.sim robot simulation offers a special feature: the robot first virtually runs through the cutting programs of the components at their respective table position and then processes them. The operating unit is equipped with a large, modern 24-inch monitor with a multi-touch surface, which makes operation very easy. The control unit also offers sufficient storage space for documents, keyboard and mouse. Several drawers provide storage space for wearing parts and tools. The control cabinet is also integrated into the control station as a pull-out element and is therefore easily accessible at all times.
ERL Automation also exhibited its tried-and-tested cutting system erlcut, which numerous satisfied customers use for vertical cutting using plasma and oxyfuel, as well as for other processes such as plasma beveling, drilling, countersinking, threading and marking. The erlcut-bevel plasma beveling unit can apply welding bevels to flat material. This means that simple components with both chamfers and vertical cut edges can be cut out of the sheet in a single step. Depending on the power source, the plasma rotator enables bevels up to 40 mm long with angles between 0° and +/- 45°.
ERL GmbH presented several new products in the ARCwelder segment to the international trade fair audience: the PSTi 2000, PWSi 3000 AC/DC and PPSi 5000 as well as the new generation of the PMSP 4000k. The Lower Bavarian company also presented two brand new welding machines, the PMSY 2200 and the PWSi 5000 AC/DC, and a new generation, the PMSY 4000k. Overall, ERL GmbH expanded its product portfolio with the new generations of the PMSY 3200k and PMSP 3200k.
Another highlight exhibited by ERL GmbH at EuroBLECH was the ARCentre Basic system Ares for entry-level automated welding of small and medium series. This system layout is characterized by a manual rotary table with two clamping surfaces. While the robot welds in the work area on one side, an employee can fix a component up to 1,500 mm long on a perforated system table on the other side. The centerpiece is the ERL ARCobot, which combines the advantages of industrial robots and cobots. As power sources, the company recommends the ARCwelder welding systems, such as the PPSi 5000, which offers 400 A at 100% duty cycle.
Numerous visitors inspected a wide variety of welding and cutting samples and gained insights into projects that have already been realized during pleasant conversations. Visitors to the stand enjoyed Bavarian beer garden flair with beer, snacks and gingerbread hearts. A joint photo in the ERL photo box, in which the visitor “dives” into an ERL system, immortalized the all-round successful visit to the ERL GmbH and ERL Automation stand.
