The self-developed BIBER software is primarily used for processing components that have already been cut out. The software ensures a simple and fast development of cutting programmes for cutting robot from dxf- and optionally from step-files. This enables an economical production of small batches (also batch size 1) and large batches.

To make the operation of the system as simple as possible, the BIBER is equipped with the software feature "intelliguide". With this function, components can be processed easily and quickly, because "intelliguide" always shows the operator the next step. Examples are "Acknowledge light grid", "Acknowledge fault" or "Send programme". This means that even inexperienced users have no obstacles when starting to operate the system.

The integrated cutting database, which is based on our years of experience, also ensures an easy handling of the robot system. By retrieving the stored data sets (oxyfuel & plasma), the required process parameters for cutting are automatically set - so even inexperienced operators have the possibility to start part production in just a few steps.
The preset parameters can be adapted to the operating conditions by the customer at any time. All cutting data comes from a database. This allows cutting lengths to be interpolated, such as 67 mm from 65/70 mm. In addition, the user benefits from the possibility to adjust parameters during cutting.

The BIBER software includes a wearing parts ticker that provides the operator with information about the condition of the cathode and cutting nozzle based on the number of previous ignitions. This way, the wearing parts can be changed in time and a high cutting quality can be continuously ensured. The software can make statements about the expected lifetime of the wearing parts and informs the operator when the entire table occupancy can no longer be cut without a loss of quality.
The integrated measuring system with a line laser scanner captures the components quickly and accurately. Permanent measurements of the workpiece edges and cut surfaces after each processing step ensure maximum precision of the cutting results.
Even dimensional deviations from the previous cut are detected by the measuring system and corrected as required.

As a standard feature, the BIBER can cut bevels from above or from the front side. With the new, optional teach function, the cutting system offers even more possibilities.
Example: In picture 1, the bevel length is 80 mm. Due to the maximum cutting length during the plasma process of approx. 50 mm, the bevel cannot be cut with plasma in the standard setting shown here. Thanks to the teach function, the bevel is cut diagonally to the standard setting (picture 2), as this is a bevel length of 10 to 20 mm - so it is easily achievable with plasma.

Some contours can cause problems during cutting under certain circumstances. The optionally available software feature BIBER.sim checks the relevant table layout for feasibility, for example regarding collisions (e.g. with narrow bottom chamfers) or singularity. The real-time calculations take place in the background before the robot programme starts and only take a few seconds.
If the table occupancy can't be cut, the software issues a warning message. The operator can then visualise the simulation and locate the affected position. The robot simulation BIBER.sim ensures the correct processing of demanding component geometries and prevents rejects.

3D-step files can also be imported into the BIBER software by using an optional extension. If this option is selected, it is also possible to import dxf files. The table layout can then contain both 2D and 3D components at the same time. To edit the components, they must be clicked on. Depending on whether it is a 2D or a 3D component, the respective editor opens. A dynamic toolbar ensures that only the functions that are available for this file format are displayed in the particular editor.
A highlight is the automatic programme generation associated with the 3D-step import. Chamfer angle, chamfer dimension and material thickness are automatically taken from the step file and used to generate a cutting programme. In this way, the usual programming activities of the work preparation are eliminated. The user benefits from significant time savings and entry or programming errors are eliminated.
